ROSE BOWL TO UNDERGO MASSIVE RENOVATION PLAN

5.23.1996

     The Pasadena City Council approved spending more than $20M
on renovation of the Rose Bowl.  Seating capacity would decrease
from 102,000 to about 90,000 which includes theater-style seats,
replacing the sound system and scoreboards and adding restrooms
and concession stands.  The renovation is seen to help "secure
its future" as the home to the MLS Galaxy and UCLA football (L.A.
TIMES, 5/22).
