ONLINE REPORT: COMPUSERVE TO GO THE WAY OF THE WEB

     CompuServe, the second largest commercial online service, is
expected to announce today that it will rebuild itself on Web
standards, according to this morning's N.Y. TIMES.  CompuServe's
decision to go Web-based follows similar moves by Prodigy, The
Microsoft Network, and AT&T Interchange, leaving AOL as the sole
remaining "proprietary" online service (Peter Lewis, N.Y. TIMES,
5/21).
     NOTES:  Interactive Technologies Inc., through its
affiliate, REV Speedway, has negotiated exclusive online
programming and interactive game rights with current and former
Winston Cup drivers, including Ernie Irvan, Dale Jarrett, Rusty
Wallace, Sterling Marlin and Richard Petty.  The REV Speedway
site will be launched at http://www. revspeedway.com at Charlotte
Motor Speedway during the Winston Select Weekend (REV
Speedway)....TACH, The Auto Channel, an online site, will offer
live audio coverage of the Indy 500, sponsored by Pennzoil (AD
AGE ONLINE, 5/21).
