MIAMI'S BRASS RALLY FOR NEW ARENA

     The Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce's rally to show
support for a $165M arena on Biscayne Bay was attended by top
business leaders from across Dade County, according to the MIAMI
HERALD.  In response to accusations of wasteful use of taxpayer
money, Miami's moguls, including developer Armando Codino, First
Union National Bank executive Carlos Migoya and Tony Ridder,
Chairman of Knight-Ridder, rallied in support of the plan and in
support of the Heat staying in Miami.  A final vote on whether to
build the new arena, which would be mostly funded with tax
dollars, will come either June 4 or 18 (Don Finefrock, MIAMI
