     Citing "a difference in style," Saints Owner Tom Benson
fired Exec VP of Administration Jim Miller, who had been with the
team since '86 (N.O TIMES-PICAYUNE, 5/19).... Saturday's "NBC
Nightly News" examined a management style called "I-Power,"
adopted by more than 1,500 companies nationwide -- including the
Dodgers (NBC, 5/18).... Michael Jordan says the "absolute bottom
figure" that will keep him with the Bulls is $36M over two
seasons (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 5/20)....Nuggets Owner Charlie Lyons
plans to hire someone to run the business side of his franchise,
possibly NBA VP Paula Hanson (ATLANTA CONSTITUTION,
5/19)....Despite the uncertainty of its future in the NFL, Tampa
officials will likely enter the bidding to host the '99 or 2000
Super Bowls (TAMPA TRIBUNE, 5/19)....Lakers GM Mitch Kupchak and
former Bullets GM John Nash are among those thought to be on the
list to replace Mavs President & GM Norm Sonju, who stepped down
last week (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 5/18)....The Diamondbacks will
pay the PCL and Phoenix Firebirds Owner Martin Stone a total of
$5.1M for taking over their Triple-A territory (ARIZONA REPUBLIC,
5/19)....Earnings for the Celtics in the fiscal third quarter
rose from $0.91 a share to $1.84 over last year (BOSTON GLOBE,
5/18)....ESPN's David Aldridge reported Magic Johnson will regain
his 5% ownership in the Lakers (which he had to resell to Jerry
Buss upon rejoining the team) now that he has retired (ESPN,
5/17).
