     Patriots QB DREW BLEDSOE has chosen his father, MAC BLEDSOE,
to head the new Drew Bledsoe Foundation, which will focus on
improving home life for young people.  The group will be backed
by $1M from Bledsoe and $1,000-per-touchdown contributions from a
"Touchdowns for Families" program in WA and MA (BOSTON HERALD,
5/15)....CHRISTIA ALOU, one of only a dozen women agents
certified by the MLBPA and the daughter of Expos manager FELIPE
ALOU, is profiled by the MONTREAL GAZETTE and USA TODAY (MONTREAL
GAZETTE, 5/14; USA TODAY, 5/16)....ESPN's Chris Mortensen
reported part of Packers QB BRETT FAVRE'S treatment for pain
medication addiction will include alcohol abuse care
("SportsCenter," 5/15)....The N.Y. POST is reporting Rangers GM
NEIL SMITH will be signed to a new long-term deal (N.Y. POST,
5/16). ....Lightning Dir of Hockey Ops TONY ESPOSITO has been
approached by members of the Phoenix Coyotes about a management
position with the team (TAMPA TRIBUNE, 5/16).... MAGIC JOHNSON,
announcing he will pursue his business interests upon retiring:
"I've already got four or five companies.  I've got three new
deals about to happen.  I like being a businessman.  I'm starting
to be good at it and I want to pursue that."  Johnson said his
shoe company is coming out with a new line in August (ESPN,
5/15).
