NAIMOLI TALKING TO FOUR POTENTIAL NAMING RIGHTS BUYERS

Devil Rays Managing Partner Vince Naimoli says he is talking
with four companies interested in buying naming rights to the
ThunderDome, according to Robert Keefe in the ST. PETERSBURG
TIMES. Although he has not set a price, Naimoli feels they can
get between $1-2M a year and is looking to sell the rights for
the life of the team's 26-year lease, "meaning a deal could be
worth between" $26-52M. In the team's agreement with the city,
the first $800,000 of naming rights revenue goes to the team,
regardless of the annual price. The next $250,000 will go to a
city account "earmarked for upkeep of the Dome." After that, up
to $1.5M of annual revenues would be split 50-50 between the team
and city. Anything above $1.55M would be split: 85% to the
team, 15% to the city (ST. PETE TIMES, 5/16).
