DOLE-RODMAN? "SNL" TABS THEIR OWN '96 DREAM TEAM
Published May 13, 1996
"Saturday Night Live's" NORM MACDONALD, as BOB DOLE, announced his VP pick this weekend -- DENNIS RODMAN. Rodman, shirtless with a feather boa: "I'm running for Vice President. And if you don't like it, well you can just kiss my ass. Right, Bob?" "Dole": "Yeah, that's right, kiss it." Rodman, on why he accepted the spot: "I've had a hard life, you know what I'm saying. Damn, my father left when I was three years old. I've spent all my life trying to find someone I could respect -- and, [to Dole, embracing him] I respect you, man." "Dole": "Get a hold of yourself you damn freak." "Dole," after Rodman says he often fantasizes about kissing men": "Get the hell off me. We're sharing the ticket and nothing else." Rodman also promoted his book, "Bad As I Wanna Be," during "Weekend Update." After MacDonald told him he had to learn "that there are such things as rules," Rodman headbutted MacDonald (NBC, 5/11).
