NASHVILLE STADIUM INSURANCE BROKERS AIM TO HELP SMALL FIRMS

The brokers in charge of lining up insurers and managing
liability risks for Nashville's $292M NFL stadium intend to bring
small construction firms and minority-owned businesses "into the
game" by keeping costs down, according to the Nashville
TENNESSEAN. Nashville-based Alexander and Associates, one of
TN's largest African-American-owned insurance brokers, and
Willis Corroon are designing a package which will provide
worker's compensation and liability coverage for contractors --
rather than requiring them to maintain it themselves. They also
hope to negotiate a fixed rate on all insurance provided, making
it easier to budget the project and to protect contractors from
swings in insurance rates (Julie Bell, Nashville TENNESSEAN,
5/8).
