MAGIC SHAKES UP EXECUTIVE LINE-UP

     John Gabriel, responsible for building the Magic's roster
during their first six seasons as VP of Basketball Ops/Player
Personnel, has been promoted to GM.  The team also announced that
GM Pat Williams has been promoted to the post of Senior Exec VP.
Williams will now be involved with the planning and research of
RDV Sports, the Magic's parent company.  Williams will also
handle marketing for RDV's  planned health and sports complex
that will have practice facilities for the Magic and the IHL
Solar Bears, as well as office space for both teams.  In addition
to overseeing all of basketball operations, Gabriel will handle
contract talks, oversee scouting and handle the team's draft
duties (Magic).  In Orlando, Brian Schmitz writes "it was not a
surprise or a major shake-up" (ORLANDO SENTINEL, 4/30).
