FRANCHISE NOTES

     The Cowboys' tumultuous off-season is profiled in Sunday's
N.Y. TIMES.  The events are "already chipping away at the
Cowboys' carefully public image and exacerbating the team's
contentious relationship with the NFL" (N.Y. TIMES, 4/29)....In
Toronto, Jim Hunt notes the sale of the Blue Jays "may be
completed sooner than we think" (Toronto SUN, 4/29)....Rangers
President Tom Schieffer denied a TV report the Rangers would
leave their spring training site in Port Charlotte, FL, for Las
Vegas (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 4/27).... The Brewers had over 19,000
in attendance on both Saturday and Sunday after they dropped
general admission prices from $7 to $3 and made bleacher seats
$1.  Parking was also free up to 90 minutes before game time (THE
DAILY).
