WILSON SPORTING GOODS BEGINS "QUIET" AD AGENCY REVIEW

     Wilson Sporting Goods has been discussing its estimated $20M
ad account with other agencies, according to the CHICAGO TRIBUNE.
Wilson selected Ogilvy & Mather Chicago less than two years ago,
but has advised the agency they have started a "very quiet
review."  Ogilvy handles almost all of Wilson's worldwide
account, except in Japan where WPP sister agency J. Walter
Thompson Co. handles the account.  Ogilvy was the choice of
Wilson's then-CEO John Riccitiello who left in February to become
CEO of Sara Lee Bakery Worldwide.  DDB Needham Chicago and Foote
Cone & Belding Chicago were beat out by Ogilvy two years ago, but
whether these firms are in the running now "couldn't be
determined"  (George Lazarus, CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 4/22).
