MORE ON BORNSTEIN'S RISE, SWANSON'S RETIREMENT AT ABC

ABC Sports Exec Producer Jack O'Hara "could be the next to
depart in the wake" of the replacement of ABC Sports President
Dennis Swanson by ESPN President Steve Bornstein, according to
Steve Zipay writes in this morning's NEWSDAY. Zipay notes, "Some
ABC Sports staffers have said privately that they wouldn't be
depressed if that happened" (NEWSDAY, 4/12)....In Philadelphia,
Bill Fleishman writes that Swanson's "retirement" from ABC
"shouldn't be interpreted as condemnation of his work" (PHILA.
DAILY NEWS, 4/12). Swanson said he has "heard from a couple of
people" about future possibilities and is "probably too young,
and with too much energy, to sit on a porch." Swanson: "I knew
it was time for me to leave" (Michael Hirsley, CHICAGO TRIBUNE,
4/12)....Swanson said he will leave after the Kentucky Derby May
6 (USA TODAY, 4/12).
