WHAT ELSE IS ON? NOTHING BUT THE GAMES

Atlanta's NBC affiliate, WXIA-TV, "will blow out most of its
schedule" during the '96 Games, "substituting most syndicated
fare with Games-related original and network programming,"
according to Jon Lafayette in ELECTRONIC MEDIA. NBC Sports will
produce a special program for WXIA from 3-5pm daily, that will
supplement network coverage from 10am-1pm and 7:30pm-midnight
daily. The station will produce an hour-long show between NBC's
"Today" and the start of network coverage daily to give residents
and visitors information on everything from ticket availability
to traffic. WXIA has hired Mary Lou Retton to report from the
Olympic Village. NBC's soap operas will run from 1-3pm. All
times are EDT (ELECTRONIC MEDIA, 4/6 issue).
