STADIUM NOTES

The discovery of contaminated soil at the site of DC's MCI
Center will increase site-preparation costs by about $1M above
the $2.3M budgeted. The city is responsible for site-preparation
cost and the overruns could be paid through a contingency fund
(WASHINGTON BUSINESS JOURNAL, 3/29 issue). ...Hollywood Park in
Inglewood and Sportstown Anaheim are "clearly the most viable" of
four primary sites being considered for a new NFL stadium,
according to a study of the four sites by Kosmont & Associates,
Inc. The two sites are favored because they have support from
city authorities and residents "and have navigated much of the
required entitlement processes" (L.A. BUSINESS JOURNAL, 3/26
issue).
