     JIM MAHONEY has been named Chair of Cohn & Wolfe's
entertainment division.  He will be based out of L.A. (HOLLYWOOD
REPORTER, 3/25)....BET Holdings has named DEBRA LEE as President
& COO of both the holding company and the cable network.  The
announcement allows CEO ROBERT JOHNSON to focus on "strategic
development" (BROADCASTING & CABLE, 3/25 issue)....MIKE GANNON
was named VP/National Sales at ESPN.  EVAN STERNSCHEIN adds OCC
Sports and ESPNET SportsZone to his area at VP/Advertising Sales.
BRIAN CARR has been promoted to VP/Sales Planning and
Administration (ESPN)....CYNTHIA BURNELL was named Senior
VP/Affiliate Relations and Marketing for NewSport (NewSport).
