COLLEGE NEWS & NOTES: GREAT 8 MOVES FROM MOTOWN TO CHITOWN

     The DirecTV Great Eight tournament will move from The Palace
of Auburn Hills to Chicago's United Center in '96.  Chicago Mayor
Richard Daley will make the announcement today, according to this
morning's CHICAGO SUN-TIMES.  The tournament, which invites the
previous year's elite eight of the NCAA Tournament, is also
sponsored by ESPN and Raycom (CHICAGO SUN-TIMES, 3/26)....Gate
receipts for the NCAA Men's Midwest Regional at the Metrodome
were an estimated $1.8M (Minneapolis STAR-TRIBUNE, 3/26)...Prices
for Final Four courtside seats have "rocketed" to over $8,000
each ("Moneyline," CNN, 3/25).  Upper level seats are going for
$950 each ("Sports View," CNBC, 3/25).
