     Cowboys WR MICHAEL IRVIN did not show at a grand jury
hearing on a drug arrest made a hotel room at which Irvin was
present.   Dallas County Asst DA NORM KINNE:   "We're not going
to go away.  We will hear from him and there's two ways to do it:
the easy way and the hard way.  If he wants to do it the hard
way, we'll do it the hard way" ("SportsCenter," ESPN, 3/21).
Irvin's attorney said his client was "ready to work with the D.A.
in this case" (N.Y. TIMES, 3/22)....PAM SHRIVER said she is
contemplating retirement from tennis after withdrawing from the
Lipton Championships with a hip injury (Baltimore SUN, 3/22)....
DENNIS RODMAN, on suspension from the NBA, is expected to turn up
in HULK HOGAN's corner at the WCW's "Uncensored in Mississippi"
PPV event on Sunday (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 3/22).
