EXECUTIVE TRANSACTIONS

     Dolphins DE TRACE ARMSTRONG is the new President of the
NFLPA.  Armstrong succeeds Mike Kenn of the Falcons, who retired
after last season.  The players also elected seven new members to
their Executive Committee:  VINCENT BROWN, RAY BROWN, JACK DEL
RIO, SEAN JONES, KENT HULL, BRETT MAXIE, and ROBERT SMITH.  TIM
BROWN, BILL BATES, and MATT STOVER were re-elected (AP/ATLANTA
CONSTITUTION, 3/22)....JIM CALLAWAY, VP & GM for Southwestern
Bell's South TX market, has been named Chair of the San Antonio
Bowl Assoc., which oversees the Builders Square Alamo Bowl.  He
succeeds H.T. JOHNSON (SAN ANTONIO EXPRESS-NEWS, 3/22)....CHUCK
WIEGLUS has resigned as Exec Dir of the U.S. Canoe and Kayak Team
to accept a position as Exec Dir of the Senior PGA Tour Sponsors
Association (U.S. Canoe and Kayak)....REBECCA HOWARD was elected
President of USA Volleyball.  She is the first woman to hold the
position (WASHINGTON POST, 3/22).
