TURNSTILE TRACKER ROUND-UP

ASTROS: The Astros will most likely fall about 28% short of
their goal to sell 17,200 season tickets by the start of the
season. Team officials say they expect to have sold 12,000-
13,000 seats by that point -- a club record, but still far below
Owner Drayton McLane's mandated goal of doubling last season's
sales (AP/Baltimore SUN, 3/16).
BEARS: The Bears announced an increase for '96 season
ticket prices. More than 39,000 end zone seats increased $3 to
$33; 10,000 corner seats were upped $5 to $40; and 17,000
sideline seats were raised $2 to $47 and $52 (Bears).
ORIOLES: The Orioles have sold 2.865 million tickets
already for the '96 season. If the club were to sell out all
tickets for home games, it would achieve total attendance of 3.7
million (Baltimore SUN, 3/16).
TWINS: Between March 18-April 1, Twins fans will be able to
purchase complete 81-game upper deck general admission season
tickets for slightly more than $1 per game. The club is pushing
its "$83 season ticket" as "yet another example" of baseball's
"affordability" (Twins).
DIAMONDBACKS: Dianne Aguilar, D'Backs VP of Ticket Ops,
said there was "little backlash" over the team's announced top
price of $50 for 900 premium seats at the new Bank One Ballpark.
Season-ticket packages are available at $50 to $3.50 a seat
(ARIZONA REPUBLIC, 3/17).
