SHAWN HUNTER yesterday announced he will leave Colorado Ski Country USA to become COO of the NHL Jets when they move to Phoenix for '96-97. Hunter, 32, will become one of the youngest chief execs in all of pro sports (DENVER POST, 1/3)....RODNEY SCOTT has joined F.A.M.E. as a Marketing Manager. He will be responsible for local and regional marketing of clients. Scott comes from the Durham Bulls (F.A.M.E.)....CARL MARSALIS resigned as GM of Astrodome USA. He will be replaced on an interim basis by SKIP BALCOMBE, former Astros VP/Sales & Marketing (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 1/4). ....The Padres promoted FRED UHLMAN to Assistant GM. He had been Special Asst to the GM (WASHINGTON POST, 1/4)....JAY LINDEN has been named VP-Director of Daytime/Late Night Sales at NBC. He was Dir of Olympic Sales for NBC's coverage of the '96 Summer Games (AD AGE ONLINE, 1/4)....The MLS D.C. United have named the following: STRICK HEILMAN as Dir of Business Development & Marketing; STEPHEN ZACK as Dir of Media & Promotions; BEAU WRIGHT as Dir/Commun.; and FRED MATTHES as Dir of Ticket Sales (United)....DICKIE VAN METER has resigned from Iowa City-based Licencing Resource Group to establish "Market Maker," a marketing and merchandising company.
