LIONS' PONTIAC DOME DEAL DEADLINE EXPIRES
Published January 3, 1996
The Lions announced they will begin discussions with Detroit and Wayne County officials about a new stadium after the club's self-imposed January 1 deadline to renegotiate their Silverdome lease passed without any movement. Pontiac City Councilman John Bueno shrugged off the deadline saying, "My gut feeling is we'll be able to work something out." Meanwhile, Asst Wayne County Exec Mike Duggan said they were "willing" to talk to them (Ron French, DETROIT NEWS, 1/3).
