RAIDERS TO OFFER SEASON TICKET HOLDERS CHANCE TO PICK SEATS

The Oakland Football Management Association will soon ask
fans to pick their own seats for the upcoming Raiders season,
according to the SAN JOSE MERCURY NEWS. Dennis Akizuki writes in
"seeking to reverse a series of ticket snafus," OFMA will ask the
39,000 fans who bought PSLs to list three preferences for their
"permanent seats" in the remodeled 62,000-seat Oakland Coliseum,
scheduled to be completed by September 15. The deadline for
response is February 15. If season-ticket holders don't respond,
OFMA will assign them seats. The significance is that PSLs are
financing the $100M renovation and other Raiders relocation
expenses. If sales fall short of break-even, Oakland and Alameda
County taxpayers pay the difference. Sales are currently $20M
short (SAN JOSE MERCURY NEWS, 1/27).
