     BOB SCHWARTZ was profiled in today's PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER
on his appointment as VP of Sales and Marketing for the
CoreStates Complex and the Flyers.  He formerly  was an Assistant
GM for the L.A. Sports Arena and Memorial Coliseum (PHILADELPHIA
INQUIRER, 1/22)....ANFERNEE HARDAWAY says local "outrage" over
SHAQUILLE O'NEAL's pending fatherhood could affect the team's
future.  Hardaway: "A guy like Shaquille doesn't have to take
anything from anybody, especially in Orlando.  If they keep
putting pressure on him, maybe that will drive him away, to
somewhere like Los Angeles or a bigger city where people don't
make a big deal about anything like this" (HOUSTON CHRONICLE,
1/21)....Agent JEFFREY NEWPORT was fined $16,500 by the state for
violating TX's athlete/agent law -- the largest such fine since
the law was enacted.  Newport allegedly supplied $5,100 in
benefits and cash and a $250,000 disability policy to TCU
tailback Andre Davis ("SportsCenter," ESPN, 1/19).
