NATIONSBANK LAUNCHES OLYMPIC MARKETING EFFORTS
Published January 22, 1996
NationsBank today is scheduled to launch its Olympic TV ad campaign, according to the ATLANTA CONSTITUTION. NationsBank Brand Dir Grant O'Neal notes the campaign is the "most concentrated TV buy we've ever done," adding, "It's our first exposure across our whole franchise for these Games." NationsBank paid $40M to become an Olympic sponsor and will spend "millions more" during the next few months to highlight its Olympic participation with consumers. Future ads will highlight NationsBank's role in putting on the Games, including providing a $300M line of credit to ACOG. O'Neal: "We're not Nike, so to speak. We're not putting shoes on the athlete. We need to concentrate on our role with the Games" (Henry Unger, ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, 1/20).
