TENNECO FUELS UP ASTROS SEASON-TICKET DRIVE

Tenneco Energy bought $150,000 worth of Astros tickets,
benefits and advertising Thursday -- as Astros officials formally
launched their season-ticket drive. According to the HOUSTON
CHRONICLE, the team is working with the Greater Houston
Partnership and local officials to double season-ticket sales for
the '96 season to 17,200, enough to give the team an extra $12M
in revenues and keep the franchise in Houston. John Williams
notes Tenneco made the purchase not just to keep the Astros in
Houston, but also to show the company is still a presence in
Houston. Tenneco plans to move its headquarters and about 30 of
its top executives to Greenwich, CT, this spring (HOUSTON
CHRONICLE, 1/12).
