The PGA of America is considering trademark litigation against the U.S. Golf Teachers Federation, which features a logo with two golf clubs crossed, similar to that of the PGA (GOLF SHOP OPERATIONS, 1/96 issue)....LPGA Commissioner Charles Mecham's final act before leaving office was to announce the creation of a South FL event -- the Palm Beach International Pro Am, which debuts in '97 at the Ibis Golf and CC in West Palm Beach (MIAMI HERALD, 12/15)....PGA of America will open its first public golf facility January 1 in Port St. Lucie, FL. Guest fees will be capped at $49.
