BUENOS AIRES THROWS HAT INTO THE RING FOR THE 2004 GAMES

     Argentinean President Carlos Menem yesterday submitted a bid
for Buenos Aires to host the 2004 Summer Games.  Spain's Seville
is expected to make their presentation today; Cape Town, South
Africa, will present on Monday; and Puerto Rico on Tuesday.
Athens is also expected to bid.  Cities which have already
submitted bids:  Rio de Janeiro, Rome, Lille (France), Istanbul
and St. Petersburg (Russia).  The deadline for bids is January
10, with the final choice expected in '97 (AP/ATLANTA
CONSTITUTION, 12/15).
