OLYMPIC NOTES: ATLANTANS WARMING TO THE GAMES

     A poll by Georgia State Univ. shows 83% of Atlantans think
the Olympics will be good for the state.  The same poll showed
69% felt this way in July (ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, 11/17)....Petter
Ronningen, managing director of the Lillehamer Olympic Organizing
Committee and operative leader of the '94 Winter Games, has been
hired as a consultant to the Salt Lake Olympic Organizing
Committee (DESERET NEWS, 11/16)....The Florida Citrus Bowl will
host two U.S. Women's Olympic soccer matches and three men's
matches featuring the top-seeded qualifier from Europe (ORLANDO
SENTINEL, 11/16). ....Jeffrey Scott profiles a $500,000 Olympic
ad by Panasonic.  The commercial, titled "The Big Game," uses a
"giants-roving-the-landscape" motif to show 80-foot-tall runners,
hurdling tall buildings, racing down Peachtree Street (Jeffrey
Scott, ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, 11/14).
