    50 "Wealthiest Angelenos" ranked by net worth.  Included:
    Clippers Owner DONALD STERLING (16), the DISNEY family (23),
    Angels Chair GENE AUTRY (34), Disney President MICHAEL OVITZ
    (41), Lakers Owner JERRY BUSS (45) and Dodgers Owner PETER
    O'MALLEY (47) (L.A. BUSINESS JOURNAL, 9/25).... CE Sports
    President CRAIG ELLEDGE is profiled in the "On a Roll" column of
    the latest issue of AD AGE.  Elledge, 35, has a 30-member agency
    that created the Bud Light Pro Beach Volleyball League and
    represents 20 corporations through events (AD AGE, 10/2)...."ET"
    showed scenes from the opening of the FleetCenter.  NANCY
    KERRIGAN, who performed:  "We're going to miss the Garden, but at
    the same time, it's the same fans, the same people and they're
    the ones who make the building what it is" ("ET,"
    10/2)....Outgoing LPGA Tour Commissioner CHARLIE MECHEM will
    remain as a consultant to the Tour and new Commissioner JIM RITTS
    ... MICHAEL CULANG has been named President of Izod Club Golf &
    Tennis.  Culang forsees "minimal organizational change" at Izod
    (GOLF WORLD, 9/29)....JERRY VAINISI has resigned from the World
    League to purse a career in sports law with a Chicago firm.
    Vainisi was WLAF VP/Football Ops (USA TODAY, 10/3)....Tigers
    Owner MIKE ILLITCH was "never more noticeable than in his
    absence" during manager SPARKY ANDERSON'S resignation press
    conference yesterday (DETROIT NEWS, 10/3)....STEVE YOUNG is in
    L.A. today to film his segment for Fox's "Beverly Hills 90210."
    Agent LEIGH STEINBERG will also be in the segment, both playing
    themselves.  Steinberg:  "Obviously it is not Shakespeare" (SAN
    JOSE MERCURY NEWS, 10/3)....ESPN's Keith Olbermann on Expos GM
    KEVIN MALONE's comment baseball is run by Satan:  "No truth to
    rumors that Satan has issued a statement saying he'd never get
    involved in anything as sleezy as the baseball business"
    ("SportsCenter," 10/2).  For the record, Malone told Peter
    Gammons that his "Satan" quote was taken out of context.  Malone:

  • NATIONAL SPORTS FORUM NAMES KEYNOTE SPEAKERS

         The '96 National Sports Forum, being held January 22-24 in
    Colorado Springs, has announced that JERRY MCMORRIS, President of
    the Rockies, JEFFREY POLLACK, Publisher of The Sports Business
    Daily, ANDY DOLICH, former President of the Warriors, and JOHN
    CORDOVA, Senior Manager of Business Affairs with Coca-Cola, will
    all be Keynote speakers for the forum.  The Sports Forum has also
    added two more members to its Steering Committee, ROB GOODMAN, GM
    of the Omaha Racers, and PETER PILLING, Associate AD External
    Relations and President of NACMA -- National Association of
    Collegiate Marketing Administrators (National Sports Forum).
