Milwaukee County Exec F. Thomas Ament denied yesterday that spending for a new Brewers stadium "will come at the expense of 'human needs,'" according Craig Gilbert of the MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL. Ament released a budget summary yesterday of all the county's human services spending, "in an effort to counter the argument that diverting money toward a new ballpark is misplaced at a time of painful cuts in government programs" (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, 10/20).
