BUCS MAY NEED HURRY UP OFFENSE OFF THE FIELD

     Unless a plan to finance a new stadium is in place by the
end of the year, Bucs Owner Malcolm Glazer "is expected to begin
looking for a new home for the team," according to Jeff Testerman
of the ST. PETERSBURG TIMES.  TSA Chair Steve Anderson:  "What
the Glazers have essentially said is, 'We're working with you,
but we've got to have a deal with you by the end of the year, or
we'll have to deal with someone else.'  If we can't make that
deadline, it's safe to say we won't have an NFL franchise in
Tampa any longer."  The "biggest obstacle" to meeting the
deadline will be securing financing by the end of the year.  In
addition, some county commissioners "insist" any tax subsidy must
go before voters, but a December 31 deadline leaves no time to
schedule a referendum (ST. PETE TIMES, 9/19).
