ACOG INTRODUCES INTERNATIONAL PAPER AS OLYMPIC SPONSOR

     International Paper has been named the Official Paper and
Forest Products sponsor for the '96 Olympic Games in Atlanta.
International Paper President & CEO John Georges declined to put
a specific dollar amount on the sponsorship.  As part of the
agreement, ACOG President & CEO Billy Payne said International
Paper will assist ACOG in the construction of Olympic venues by
providing lumber and wood products, and will also assist with all
printing needs.  Georges said the sponsorship compliments the
company's international presence and that it would be
incorporated in a TV advertising campaign (THE DAILY).
