         The Marlins have announced that BOB KRAMM's title has been
    changed from VP Sales and Advertising to VP of Sales and
    Marketing.  The team also named NEAL BENDESKY Senior Dir of
    Corporate Sales and BEN CREED Dir of Corporate Sales and
    Promotions (SportsTicker)....The latest issue of THE SPORTING
    NEWS looks at the top six people in their annual list of the 100
    Most Powerful People in Sports and tells what they have been
    doing this year, this month and what they have in store for the
    future.  Those featured:  RUPERT MURDOCH, PAUL TAGLIABUE, DAVID
    STERN, TED TURNER, BUD SELIG and DICK EBERSOL (TSN, 9/4
    issue)....The firms of HOULIHAN, LOKEY HOWARD & ZUKIN and THE
    WHARTON GROUP have joined to form The Sports Consultancy (Sports
    Consultancy)....Giants Co-Owner BOB TISCH is featured in an ad
    for the WALL STREET JOURNAL in today's edition.  Slogan:  "I
    consider the Journal the 12th member of my team" (WALL STREET
    JOURNAL, 9/1)....U.S. Olympic Swim Team members STEPHEN GILL and
    RICK MCNAIR will portray themselves in an upcoming episode of
    "Bay Watch" ("ET," 8/31)....The National Hot Dog and Sausage
    Council is steamed at the $1,000 fines given to Seahawks RICK
    MIRER, CORTEZ KENNEDY and EUGENE ROBINSON for eating hot dogs on
    the sidelines during the team's final preseason game.  In a
    direct challenge, the Council has sent coach DENNIS ERICKSON six
    pounds of wieners, daring the coach to resist their "great taste"
    (Hot Dog and Sausage Council).  ....TONYA HARDING makes her
    singing debut this weekend in Portland, OR, with her band -- The
    Golden Blades.  Harding and the Blades will perform covers of
    light pop in a benefit for muscular dystrophy (USA TODAY, 8/31).
    Harding was denied a request to cut 100 hours from her community
    service by an Oregon judge on Wednesday.  Harding had also
    requested that half of the $50,000 she had pledged to the Oregon
    Special Olympics as part of her probation be given to Loaves and
    Fishes, another charity.  The judge denied this request also
    (Portland OREGONIAN, 8/31).
