GOOD NEWS FOR ACOG AS THEY ANNOUNCE STRONG TICKET SALES

     ACOG announced more than 326,000 people have ordered tickets
to the '96 Games.  In Atlanta, Melissa Turner writes those
numbers "far" exceed Olympic organizers expectations and breaks
"all records previously set" by the '84 L.A. Games.  Orders
averaged $1,100 for 17 tickets, but ACOG will have to refund some
money once ticket confirmations go out this month and people
"find out what they've won -- and lost -- in the ticket lottery."
ACOG has budgeted $290M from ticket sales.  Turner writes the
committee may "recapture much of the refunded money in a new
surge of orders expected to begin once spectators get their
ticket confirmations on September 22" (ATLANTA CONSTITUTION,
9/1).
