An editorial in today's WASHINGTON POST calls for the Senate to pass a bill authorizing the District to use its own taxes in the effort to build a new arena in downtown Washington. The House unanimously passed the same bill Friday (WASHINGTON POST, 8/8)....The WHL T-Birds are set to move into the new Key Arena next season where expenses will be four times greater. Thunderbirds President Russ Williams: "It's extremely sobering. We have more potential revenue, but we're not sure how much revenue we'll produce" (SEATTLE POST INTELLIGENCER, 8/8).
