EXECUTIVE TRANSACTIONS

     MARTINA NAVRATILOVA announced yesterday that she will not
seek another term as President of the WTA Tour Players
Association and also that she is resigning her seat on the tour's
board of directors.  Navratilova:  "I gave the job more time than
I thought I would and not as much as it deserves. ... I think
we're at a really good place for finding a new sponsor.  We may
have one by the end of the U.S. Open" (N.Y. TIMES, 8/24)....Under
fire for his conduct during the recent NCAA investigation,
Alabama AD CECIL "HOOTIE" INGRAM resigned yesterday.  Ingram will
stay on in the interim and then serve  in another capacity
(ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, 8/24)....Chiefs Exec VP & COO TIM CONNOLLY
has accepted a position with Ameritech as Senior VP.  Connolly
joined the Chiefs in '89 and is credited with starting such
practices as pre-game shows and parking-lot barbeques, which are
now "copied" throughout the NFL (K.C. STAR, 8/24).... SUSAN
DENISON has been named Exec VP/Entertainment & Marketing for
Madison Square Garden (MSG).
