NEW OLYMPIC SPONSOR: THE STAR OF THE AMERICAN HIGHWAY

     Texaco and ACOG have announced that Texaco will be the
Official Petroleum Sponsor of the '96 Summer Games as well as the
Official Petroleum Provider to the '96 Olympic Torch Relay.  Star
Enterprise, a Texaco-branded refining and marketing affiliate
which operates in 26 East and Gulf Coast states, will join Texaco
in the sponsorship.  Under terms of the sponsorship, Texaco and
Star Enterprise will be licensed to use the Olympic rings in
connection with the sale, promotion and advertising of fuel and
lubricant products sold at more than 14,000 Texaco-branded and
other outlets throughout the U.S.  Texaco is in the process of
developing a number of local, regional and national ad and
promotional strategies designed to leverage the Games (Texaco).
