JACK MCDOWELL and BILL GATES were dubbed "Losers" in this week's TIME magazine. On McDowell: "Just when you thought it was safe to go back to the ball park, he 'salutes' angry fans" (TIME, 7/31 issue)....The IHL Spiders are seeking a qualified candidate to be their first official mascot (Spiders)....DEION SANDERS reported to the Giants yesterday and played against the Marlins last evening. At a press conference, Sanders criticized the Dolphins for not making him an offer. Sanders: "If you really want to pursue me, you know my agent is Eugene Parker. Give him a call."
