     Former Eagles QB RON JAWORSKI held back tears yesterday as
he pledged to negotiate seriously with striking hotel workers who
walked out of his Philadelphia Holiday Inn over two years ago.
On July 13, two hotel bodyguards kicked and beat a demonstrator.
Jaworski, who owns 11% of the hotel, complained that he was the
"lightning rod" of union attacks.  Both sides are set to meet
with a negotiator appointed by the Mayor's office (PHILADELPHIA
INQUIRER, 7/20)....In a teleconference call with members of the
national media, MONICA SELES said she hopes to play for the U.S.
women's tennis team in the '96 Olympics (ATLANTA CONSTITUTION,
7/20)....DAVID ANDREWS has agreed to terms of a new five year
contract as the AHL President and CEO (AHL).
