NASHVILLE BEER VOTE IS STILL TO CLOSE TO CALL

Tonight's vote to allow the coming 20,000-seat Nashville Arena to sell beer is still too close to call, according to the NASHVILLE BANNER. In a BANNER poll of council members, Mayor Phil Bredesen has 14 firm votes to approve the measure, with 21 needed. While eleven council members say they are still undecided, "off-the-record conversations" show the Mayor might have just enough votes for passage (Moritz & Wilkinson, NASHVILLE BANNER, 6/5).
