     Sprint will debut its new toll-free "Sprint Golf Tips
Hotline," featuring top PGA and LPGA Tour pros offering tips over
the phone.  The hotline (1-800-835-3125), which will change every
two weeks, will run until early September.  The first installment
features Davis Love III and Michelle McGann on the driving game.
Other pros who will take part include Tom Kite, Mark
Calcavecchia, David Frost, Patty Sheehan, Pat Bradley and Joanne
Carner.  The pros will not be paid, but Sprint will donate $1,000
to their favorite charities (Sprint)...."Entertainment Tonight"
reported on the International Advertising Festival in Cannes,
France.  ET's Mary Hart noted that Nike "scored" with its soccer
ads from the Netherlands ("ET," 6/28)....The state of MI is
issuing Olympic fund-raising license plates.  For $25, motorists
can purchase plates with the emblem USA over the multicolored
Olympic rings.  The money goes to the state's U.S. Olympic
Education center (USA TODAY, 6/29).... In today's N.Y. TIMES
Media Business column, Glenn Collins writes on the advantages of
marketing Broadway as a brand, not as individual shows.  NBA
Properties President Rick Welts said Broadway "has many of the
characteristics of a brand."  Welts told Collins the NBA turned
around its unpopular, unsuccessful image in the early 1980's
"when we decided to create a truly international presence,
instead of publicizing individual franchises" (N.Y. TIMES,
6/29).... Prime Sports West has become the first corporate
sponsor of the Padres' "Padres Scholars" program, donating $2,500
to the Padres Foundation.  The team will award 25 students each
year with a $5,000 scholarship for college tuition (Prime Sports
West)....CBS/Fox and NHL Productions will rush-release "The
Official 1995 NHL Stanley Cup Championship Video."  It will be
available nationally August 1 for suggested retail price of
$19.98 (CBS/Fox)....Dayton's and Target have agreed to become the
title sponsor of the December 16 Univ. of Minnesota basketball
game against Cal-Berkeley at the Metrodome.  The game will be
telecast on ESPN (Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE, 6/29)....The fourth
annual Sports International Forum will be held July 14-15 prior
to the start of the NSGA World Sports Expo.  It will feature a
hands on demonstration of the internet (Sports Int'l).
