NAMES IN THE NEWS

     U.S. Open champ COREY PAVIN had a walk-on on Letterman where
he recieved two videos from Dave's collection ("Late Show," CBS,
6/23)....Lakers VP JERRY WEST will travel to Hawaii next week to
meet with MAGIC JOHNSON and discuss Johnson's future in the NBA
(Baltimore SUN, 6/25). ....TROY AIKMAN and starlet SANDRA BULLOCK
"have become an item," according to this morning's USA TODAY.
The two apparently have become "fax pals," according to Aikman's
agent, LEIGH STEINBERG.  They met at the recent Blockbuster
Entertainment Awards party in L.A. (USA TODAY, 6/26)....IHL Aeros
Pres & GM STEVE PATTERSON has been awarded the Andy Mulligan
Trophy as the IHL's top exec (IHL)....JOHN CIRILLO has been named
Senior VP/Communications for MSG.  Cirillo has been with the
Knicks for the past 11 years (MSG)....NJ Gov CHRISTINE TODD
WHITMAN finished 5th in the IBM-U.S. Equestrian Team Festival of
Champions (USA TODAY, 6/26).
