     The USOC hears the report of its Exec Dir search committee
today.  While their first choice is expected to be former NCAA
Exec Dir DICK SCHULTZ, "opposition to him has surfaced" (USA
TODAY, 6/23)....The Knicks have promoted ED TAPSCOTT to VP/Admin
and Scouting.  He had served as the team's Dir of Admin (N.Y.
POST, 6/23).  The team also promoted PAM HARRIS to VP/Marketing,
and BILLIE STREETS to Dir/Marketing & Community Relations.  The
76ers have named THOMAS CHESTNUT as Exec VP.  The Marlins have
named MARC GEDDIS as Dir of Marketing Communications
(SportsTicker).
