     Viacom Chair Sumner Redstone announced yesterday that the
company has plans for 10 "entertainment and studio stores," with
the first possibly opening on Chicago's Michigan Avenue "Miracle
Mile" next year (N.Y. NEWSDAY, 6/22)....The NBA Expansion Draft
will be televised by NBC and CTV this Saturday, June 24 at 4:30pm
EDT, co-hosted by Bob Costas and CTV's Rod Black (NBA)...."A wall
of silence has formed around talks between Interbrew SA and the
suitors jostling for control of the broadcast arm of John Labatt
Ltd" (FINANCIAL TIMES, 6/22)....Norman Lear has agreed to sell
eight TV stations controlled by Act III Broadcasting for more
than $500M.  The stations, all Fox affiliates: WZTU, Nashville;
WUTV, Buffalo; WRGT, Dayton; WRLH, Richmond; WVAH, Charleston-
Huntington, West VA; WNRW, Greensboro, NC; WUHF, Rochester; and
WTAT, Charleston, SC (WASHINGTON POST, 6/22)....This week the
U.S. Justice Department "has broadened its investigation" of
Microsoft's plans for the Microsoft Network, by issue subpoenas
to its "information suppliers" (N.Y. TIMES, 6/21)....Sony will
release its digital TV system this month, which should sell for
approximately $700.  Two pricier versions will be rolled out in
August (USA TODAY, 6/22)....Prime Sports Northwest airs the
CISL's Seattle Sea Dogs first ever regular season game tomorrow
(Prime).... The CISL Washington Warthogs will open their world
wide web site at midnight this Friday.  The site, developed by
Dynamcic Technology in Springfield, VA, will offer access to box
scores, CISL standings, player bios, and special ticket offers.

(Warthogs)....The IHL Houston Aeros and Prime Sports have reached
a cablecast agreement that will keep the Aero's on TV during the
1995-96 season.  Prime will televise 25 live home games (Aeros).

TNT’s Stan Van Gundy, ESPN’s Tim Reed, NBA Playoffs and NFL Draft

On this week’s pod, SBJ’s Austin Karp has two Big Get interviews. The first is with TNT’s Stan Van Gundy as he breaks down the NBA Playoffs from the booth. Later in the show, we hear from ESPN’s VP of Programming and Acquisitions Tim Reed as the NFL Draft gets set to kick off on Thursday night in Motown.
