     Worth, Inc. has become the first bat manufacturer to
unveil bats made with C405 aluminum alloy -- "the most advanced
aluminum alloy available for civilian use" (Worth)....Kmart will
close 72 of its "poorly performing U.S. stores in 23 states,
eliminating about 5,800 jobs" (L.A. TIMES, 6/2)....Officials at
Boston Garden are trying to figure out "how to please memento-
seeking season-ticket holders who want to buy their beloved
seats."  Garden PR Dir Jo O'Connor said they might open the
Garden for a giant "trade-show like auction" (BOSTON MAGAZINE,
6/95 issue).... PSP Sports Marketing, official publisher of NBA
HOOP magazine, has produced, in conjunction with the NBA, the
league's first ever commemorative magazine specifically for the
NBA Finals (PSP).... A consortium of ad agencies and execs called
InterBevNet hope to beat Coca-Cola and Pepsi "to the punch" by
marketing a coffee/cola drink called Zydecola, which has a double
dose of caffeine.  The drink will be test marketed in L.A. this
summer (AD WEEK, 5/29 issue)....License plates are available for
ten of FL's pro sports teams, but not the Bucs and Devil Rays.
The "pending change" of the Bucs logo has caused a delay, but
both should be available by September (TAMPA TRIBUNE, 6/2).
