TOYOTA NAMED TITLE SPONSOR OF GATOR BOWL
Published May 4, 1995
Toyota and the Gator Bowl Association have announced that the auto maker will be the New Years Day Bowl's new title sponsor. The one-year deal carries with it three one-year options, and NBC will broadcast the game for the next three seasons (THE DAILY). Toytota replaces Outback as title sponsor. TBS carried the last Gator Bowl. The '96 bowl will match the No. 2 picks from the ACC and Big East (Toyota Gator Bowl). The sponsorship is estimated at $1M (AP/PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER, 5/4).
