REDSKINS LOOK AT LATEST SITE IN LANDOVER, MD
The campaign to lure the Redskins to Prince George's County, MD, will likely be "bolstered" Tuesday when the County Council votes on whether to pay $6.2M for nearly 300 acres of land known as Wilson Farm. According to Council member Marvin Wilson, in buying the site, officials could offer the land for a bid that Redskins Owner Jack Kent Cooke "would be sure to consider." Redskins sources agree, saying that the county's decision to buy the land "would reinforce efforts to win the stadium," as Cooke would prefer to deal with a "supportive government" (WASHINGTON TIMES, 4/1).
