was named special assistant to AL President GENE BUDIG.  Budig
says Doby will concentrate on community relations (AL)....In this
morning's S.F. EXAMINER, Hornets Dir of Player Personnel DAVE
TWARDZIK is reportedly "a serious candidate" to become the
Warriors VP/Basketball Ops (S.F. EXAMINER, 4/18)....USA Baseball
has named MARIO BORROCCI as Commissioner of the U.S. Olympic
Festival (USA Baseball).... CHRISTOPHER KOCH has been named
President of New Era Caps, succeeding his father, DAVID KOCH
(SGB, 4/95 issue)... At Avia, JOHN HUNTER has been named national
sales manager; CARRIE RIEDEL-WILHITE has been named apparel
merchandising manager; and RUSSELL MOORE has been promoted to
apparel marketing manager (AVIA)....Hawks Coach LENNY WILKENS is
reportedly the favorite to be head coach of the '96 U.S. Olympic
team (ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, 4/17)....BORA MILUTINOVIC has
resigned as coach of the U.S. Soccer team. Former Portugal
national coach CARLOS QUEIROS is the favorite to replace him
(Mult., 4/15).
