TEXACO SIGNS UP TO SPONSOR USA BASKETBALL THROUGH '96

Texaco announced they will be official sponsor of USA Basketball, with rights extending to all teams fielded by USA Basketball through '96. Texaco plans to develop several integrated marketing campaigns, including print and broadcast advertising along with promotional tie-ins. USA Basketball Exec Dir Warren Brown said Texaco's "tremendous reach through its nationwide system of service stations provides an extensive opportunity to broaden the exposure of USA Basketball" (USA Basketball). Paul Weeditz, a spokesperson at Texaco, told THE SPORTS BUSINESS DAILY that promotional tie-ins and advertising are still in the planning stages and have not been finalized (THE DAILY).
