Patriots Coach Bill Parcells and IU Basketball Coach Bobby Knight are interested in buying the Birmingham Barons minor league baseball team, according to a report in the BIRMINGHAM NEWS. Larry Schmittou, President of the Class AAA Nashville Sounds, said he would be also part of the group with NBC's Bob Costas, but that Parcells and Knight would be principal owners. Schmittou said Parcells "wanted me to find him a team" (WASHINGTON POST, 3/7).
